There are a lot of people searching for answers. Some are direct enough to come right out and ask, but most stand in the background waiting, and listening, and feeling that little tickle in the back of their mind that says, “I want something, but what is it?” We read the books, comb through the websites, listen to the talks, hear the stories, all the while looking for something to fill that space. With so much available to us, we should all be filled to the brim, but we’re not. Why? Here’s a list of possible reasons:
- It takes energy to hold the dream. Many of us are energetically drained through emotions, thoughts, taking care of others, giving too much of ourselves, and there isn’t enough left at the end of the day to take care of self.
- Most of us have been told the “truth” before, only to find out that it is a little twisted version, or maybe even the furthest thing from the truth. Trust is important. You have to open the door to clear the air inside. When we don’t have trust then its not going to get through to us, even if its the most amazing thing in the world.
- Purpose. What are you trying to satisfy? It’s not always easy to pinpoint the purpose, and many times we don’t have the words, just a gut level feeling. But when you get down to the nitty gritty we need a purpose, something that ties whatever it is you are looking for back to you, for you.
- We don’t have enough space within ourselves to know the difference between our own likes and dislikes. If this is the case, then let’s bring in another expression: “you can’t please all the people all of the time”.
- Much of our learning and growing is through our own experience, not someone elses. In fact, it’s not the experience itself that teaches us, it’s what we derive from it. A tool is a tool, anyone can hold a paintbrush, but only one person has ever painted a picasso.
- It’s not so much the idea, or the technique, but it is the belief and faith that is behind it, knowing that it works. Intent is an amazing gift that is often overlooked. Another great word to drescribe this ability to move mountains is “vision”.
There you have it, six interesting concepts of why it can be so hard to find the answers. Answers are really a custom fit, working only for the individual, and many times just for the moment. I think we’ve all had an experience that feels so good and right, and later we try to recreate it, and it’s just not the same? It’s the same concept. Let’s throw another monkey wrench into the works: maybe that answer did work, but in a more subtle way. It could have been the spark that starts a new flame burning, or the stepping stone that leads you up a new pathway. Maybe you’re just trying to find that you had the answer from the very beginning.
