At some point, everyone is going to get to the point where they decide to retire, whether they do it early or wait until later. Some people decide to retire early, which can be great if you are able to do it. Of course there isn’t an age limit on how long you are able to keep working.

If you are able to do the job physically, then you should be able to keep on working. For most people though, they dream of the day when finally they can enjoy sitting on the porch or spending some time with a fishing rod. This day is coming, so ensure you have things ready.

Consider the social security that you should get when you plan on your retirement. Usually the payment that you get from social security is going to be based on your work, and usually takes the top 35 years into consideration. Retire too early and you may not get enough money to live on.

When you are planning retirement, money will be important. You have to have some income coming in when you are not working. Since you aren’t working there is not income that is coming in, except for any money your pension brings in to you. So once you retire, money is going to be quite important to you.

Nothing else stops when you stop working. You can still go out and do what you have always wanted to do. If you have always wanted to go deep sea diving but couldn’t get away from work for that long, then this is your opportunity.

There is not going to be a better time than once your retirement has begun. When one goes on retirement, whether it is early or well overdue, families and friends will normally throw a retirement party for you. This can be a very fun time; a celebration to the end of one life and the start to another.

After you stop working, there will actually be some savings. You may not have a huge pension coming in, but there are a variety of other savings you should think about. You will save in gas since you don’t have to drive to work anymore, or if you used public transportation, you won’t have to pay for that. There won’t be any office clothes or uniforms to purchase anymore either.

You won’t have to buy your lunch or pack a lunch. There won’t be the morning coffee stops or the mid afternoon trip to the vending machine. Of course you probably won’t really see all that money that you save. You will have a whole lot of spare time to do things you want to. You can enjoy traveling or perhaps do something else you’ve wanted to do.

Sometimes after people retire and do what they want for awhile, they end up going back to work, although usually only part time. Starting a business is an option as well. Of course this is not something you must do. You can just enjoy being retired, or you can choose to do some work when you are feeling a bit bored.
