How You Make A Successful Career Transition

Dreamed of making a successful career transition?

You are not alone. This is a historic time in US history, when millions are making, (or having the decision made for them!), career changes. The key is to make a successful career transition, so here are some ideas.

Take a novel approach to making a successful career transition. This is not the time to follow old traditional ways of changing careers. It’s time to innovate. The decision makers at the top of the political and corporate world have turned things upside down so you have to be quick on your feet. One example is to explore the internet and the millions of opportunities that it provides for successful career transition.

Don’t panic is the order of the day. Keep a cool head and you will stand out. Remember, even in these chaotic times you can make a successful career transition.

Use your sphere of influence. Call friends, family, and business associates. Call in favors. If you want to make a successful career change it’s critical to stay in touch. One of my most successful career transitions was initiated by a former girl friend.

Research. Let your mind go blank and just start researching the net. See what’s out there, and if there are any dominant themes that seem to stand out. Keep an open mind as you surf and keep an eagle eye out for any niche opportunities for your successful career change. One of the most successful career transitions for me was one that came in through the back door. I almost didn’t capitalize on it. I’m very thankful that I did because it made me a ton of money.

Rethink and reassess your strengths, weak areas, and passions. After you do this formulate a plan of action for your successful career transition. Do you need extra education or training? Do you need to totally revamp your career focus? Can you turn a hobby or passion into a successful career transition?

Most important is to persevere and stay positive. In these chaotic times you are 100 times more likely to make a successful career transition if you are positive and persevere. One of my old mentors used to say, You don’t have to be 100 % better to get the deal, you only have to be 10% better. Sometimes the spoils, or in this case the successful career change, goes to the one that persists. As Winston Churchill said, Never Give Up!
