The recruitment industry is being hit by the credit crunch, but things are getting better out there. As the recruitment industry is so varied recruitment companies dont have a specific type of student in mind and are happy to take graduates from any discipline as long as theyre a competitive sort. This element of competition theyre looking for can be achieving a 1st or a 2.1 or it could be in another field such as success in sport or just general achievements such as winning a sought after work experience placement. A good place to start you recruitment career at the moment is within the public sector recruitment agency as recently there has been a rise in public sector spending and job creation. Competition for roles within established companies is fierce, so think about the smaller recruitment agencies or new start ups where youll still get valuable experience and more responsibility.
