We Have Met The Enemy And It Is Us – The Emergence Of More Conscious Leaders

by David Dibble

Buckminster (Bucky) Fuller, as a Conscious Leader, was a man I researched and admired a great deal. Again and again Fuller spoke about the blatant inaccuracy throughout our ideas with regard to the cosmos and natural world. For illustration, the sun will never rise in the morning time or set at night. The Mother Earth spins and we rotate toward Father Sun in the morning hours and away in the evening. Each night, there exists an earth eclipse of the sun and it happens once again every twenty-four hours. Bucky also points out that there is no up or down in the cosmos, only in and out.

When we look toward the night sky, we see a universe that existed millions or billions of years ago, but no longer exists as we see it. The light that appears as stars was produced previously and the positioning of the stars that we “visualize” has long since changed or perhaps vanished in the dying of a star.

We tend to think there isn’t a connection between people and the rest of the universe. Many even accept that we “control” the universe in the sense that we expect that if we do various things, we can bring forth a select kind of future. However, there is not a sliver of proof to bolster this myth.

For each individual who worked quite hard, performed at his or her best to complete the right things and made it in life, there can be many others whose dreams are still unfulfilled. In the event we look at the know-how and life journey to the presidency of George W. Bush verses that of Abe Lincoln or perhaps even President Obama, it really is very hard to suppose capability or best efforts made any difference. As W. Edwards Deming used to convey, “It’s the luck of the draw.” It relates to another thing more along the lines of favorable luck or destiny.

It is not to proclaim we ought not to work hard, engage in the proper activities, or reach for our higher intent for work. Doubtless we ought to. Then again, I wonder if we are not entering a period of time that we start to move considerably more of our attention from “out there” toward a much more inward adventure.

Everything that happens in the exterior realm is happening inside out. Our existence is formed beforehand in the mind and then manifests in the external reality. Why is this realization imperative for any Conscious Leader? Because a Conscious Leader has to be able to reconcile the illusion in her mind that results in the appearance of separation.

In contrast to other living creatures, only human beings possess a mind that triggers the illusion that we are in some way detached from others, nature or God. Whereas that disconnectedness might at first crop up to become a curse, there actually is a blessing in it also. People are blessed to see the possibility to awaken from the delusion, to become the thing we have always been, to recall, to live our divinity while in the body.

All things, and I do mean everything, is energy in its multiple forms. The forces inside the natural world only and always interact with each other in synergistic ways. As Conscious Leaders, we likewise must find out how to lead in the big dance that is all life. We are all in life together.

The challenges we are facing as a race at the moment are definitely of a function of the mind looking at others and nature as something to overcome or eliminated. We currently, more than at any time in human history, hold the opportunity to awaken within the simple truth that we aren’t separate from anything. We are most certainly One. Whatsoever we do to others and our Mother Earth, we do to ourselves. In cases where we create victims, we will be victimized in one way or another. Luckily, this operates in both directions. Any time we love ourselves and others, we bring more love into our lives. If our work benefits all people, inclusive of society and nature, it benefits us. As the Hopi proclaim, “The time for the lone wolf is over.” It’s a period of time for the ?emergence? of Conscious Leadership.
